Sunbound Acquires Richter Healthcare Consultants, Bringing Decades of Financial Trust and Expertise in Senior Living Revenue Management to Sunbound's Technology Platform
Acquisition combines Sunbound's AI-powered revenue operations system with Richter's strong track record of serving senior living and skilled nursing operators
Sunbound also announces $24 million in Series A funding led by TTV Capital to accelerate business growth
WASHINGTON and CLEVELAND, Oct. 15, 2026 -- Sunbound, the AI-powered revenue operating system for senior living, announced it has completed the acquisition of Richter Healthcare Consultants ("Richter"), a firm that has worked exclusively with post-acute and senior living operators for more than 25 years, delivering outsourced revenue cycle management, accounting, Medicaid eligibility, and reimbursement services alongside clinical and financial consulting. Jennifer Richter, CPA, Founder and CEO of Richter, will remain with the company in a new role focused on industry partnerships and product strategy. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition follows the recent close of Sunbound's $24 million Series A, bringing the company's total funding to $36 million. The round was led by TTV Capital, with participation from Bling Capital, Fika Ventures, Live Oak Bank, and Ziegler Linkage Fund. Sunbound will use the new capital to accelerate business growth and product development.
These milestones mark significant growth for Sunbound. The company has always paired its software with a team of revenue experts, and Richter adds decades of experience serving skilled nursing, senior living, home health, and hospice operators. That expertise gives Sunbound a foundation to expand further into skilled nursing, one of the most complex segments in post-acute billing. Paired with Sunbound's software, it frees the combined team to focus on the judgment, analysis, and relationships that make the difference for operators. Together, Sunbound and Richter are on track to process $3 billion in annualized payment volume.
"Senior living operators spend significant time and effort dealing with manual and inefficient financial workflows," said Manny Cominsky, Co-Founder and CEO of Sunbound. "The industry deserves a modern solution that simplifies payments for both senior living operators and their families. Our platform directly addresses the operational inefficiencies, financial underperformance, and cash flow issues that have plagued operators for years. By joining forces with Richter, a company with deep expertise in skilled nursing and post-acute care, we can transform revenue operations for even more care providers."
Together, Sunbound and Richter give senior care operators what the market hasn't offered before: software that runs the revenue cycle from admission to payment, backed by an expert team that is accountable for the results. With Sunbound, operators get:
- Claims that get paid. End-to-End RCM for Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care flags denial risks before a claim is submitted, and Sunbound's billing experts work every exception through to payment and posting. Operators see a 99% claims collection rate and 96% first-pass acceptance.
- Less time chasing payments. Private Payments moves families to digital payments, automates all payment operations, and pairs software with a dedicated support team that answers billing questions, so community staff spend more time on quality of care, not collections. Operators reclaim more than 40 hours per community each month.
- Bad debt stopped at the front door. Admissions verifies payer coverage and confirms a resident's ability to pay in just 30 seconds, before a bed is committed.
- One partner across the business of care. Richter brings expertise that spans financial, clinical, and operational needs: accounting and controller services, Medicaid eligibility, reimbursement and clinical consulting, audit and compliance support, and EHR implementation and optimization. Operators get it all from one team instead of piecing it together from several firms.
Clients of both companies will not experience any service interruptions, and each will benefit from the other's offerings over time.
"Our clients trust us with their most critical work, and that trust has always come from our team's deep expertise in this industry," said Jennifer Richter, CPA, Founder and CEO of Richter. "Partnering with Sunbound puts modern technology behind everything that our team already does well. Sunbound's software handles the high-volume, repetitive tasks that have traditionally slowed things down, so our clients see faster results, and our team can focus on the work where their expertise makes the biggest difference."
"Healthcare finance is incredibly complex, and most senior living and skilled nursing operators lack modern financial technology," said Neil Kapur, Partner at TTV Capital. "Sunbound's AI-powered revenue operating system brings structure and predictability to an industry that has long needed it, and the company's rapid growth signals strong product-market fit. We're proud to invest in Sunbound as the company embarks on a clear expansion path to bring intelligent payment operations to the broader senior living and skilled nursing market."
